It was a beautiful morning. 78 or so degrees, not a cloud in the sky, paired with very low humidity. And boy were there cars.
TMI Autotech, the American manufacturers of Ariel’s was present with their 3S demo car, along with their Nomad which they completed this past Tuesday, and they already have 25 orders for it. I met the VP of TMI at Pinehurst and they are a really good company, full of enthusiasts who know what they’re doing.
My mother had a 1985 Celica GT-S, and I wish she still did.
E39 gang, along with the Greater Raleigh Vape Squad, made an appearance. I didn’t get any pictures of Bros vaping, I love myself.
Absolutely beautiful Alfa Romeo. Original US market car, too.
Guess how many cylinders this car has.
Hint: five.
This E46 wagon absolutely made my life. Why?
Because S54 swap.
Fuk 12 rich gang
I rarely see an IS300 SportCross, and am always happy to see one. Not a fan of the wheels here, but it is what it is.
Oh yeah, there was this fantastic M2 that that the owner just picked up a few weeks ago. Very pretty color, really cool owner.
The Viggen has always been a favorite of mine. Pretty fast and pretty cheap.
I really liked the color on this FR-S. Does anyone know what color this is, was it some special edition?
As I have never seen a Messerschmitt before, my main takeaways were 1) it’s really small 2) OH MY GOD IT’S VERY SMALL.
Fantastic ‘90 R32 GTS-4, featuring that beautiful RB20. Only ~60,000 miles on it.
Naturally, the Skyline had to have this plate. First in Freedom, indeed.
To close it out, I leave you with this beautiful maroon E39 M5. I’ve never seen an M5 in this color, but I really do enjoy it.
Did any Oppo’s go to Cars and Coffee, or are any of you going to one?

There’s a good possibility that, with just a few modifications, the Nomad can be made into a platform (like MQB) from which an SUV or two may be made.

I scoped out that red E39 in the first picture, it is such a good looking colour. And the E46 wagon is making me sweat.

Love the Messerschmitt!

I think the FR-S is a Release Series 2.0 edition. Only 1000 made in that color so pretty rare.
Good to hear they already have orders for the Nomad. I think it is a good value for the price despite the FP commenters going crazy about how anyone could build something faster in their back yard for half the cost.

Were you there?

Like a 4-seat Nomad?
![]() 05/28/2016 at 13:32 |

While they could build something similar, would they really want to and will it be even half as good?

No. But that’s the FP commentariat these days.

I saw the same R32 the other day down here in Apex

They don’t know anything.

I live in Apex, too. Is that one of the newer shopping centers?

Sheetz at Ten Ten and Rte 1. I guess that’s technically Apex lol. I live in that weird “am I in cary or apex or holly Springs or...Oh fuck it” area

Oh, cool. I know exactly where that is, as I went to Lufkin Rd. Middle and a good friend works there. I also live in that weird, “am I in Cary or Apex or Holly Springs or...Oh fuck it,” area. I’m right near Middle Creek School Park.

Hello neighbor! Ten Ten and Kildaire right here :)

When I was younger, I lived in The Meadows, Cotswold, and Hallmark. Have you been to the Publix yet?

Haha I live in the Meadows. I tried to go the other day but it was an absolute madhouse. At least they turned the old Lowes into something rather than that center be mostly empty

There’s the Dollar Tree! Well, East Coast Boxing is gone, Back in the Day Cafe is a Mexican restaurant again, and the part near Wake Tech is dead. I have friends that work at Dunkin, McDonald’s, and Brothers Pizza, so I’m in that area all the time. Hell, I might get a job at Little Caesars.

Back in the Day is still there. The place next to it is Venezulian or something. Back in the Day did get bought out by some one if I remember correctly, though. Was actually thinking about going over there for some drinks later. The Little Caesars is always looking for people. I know a few people over at Chef’s Palette. Heck, my neighbors daughter works over there. They’re good to work for, too. Kathy the owner is really cool.

Does Chef’s Palette hire 16 year olds? Because their food is pretty amazing, not gonna lie.
But I do remember when that whole corner was just farms.

They might. I know of a 17 year old over there who works in the kitchen.

Hmm. I just got my Little Caesars application.

If their is a black Mustang Gt convertible at Chefs that’s Kathy’s the owner.. but they open at 5.

Oh, I know which car you’re talking about. It’s a good shopping center, but I remember when it was all fields.

Apparently there was just a flashing light at the intersection back in the day but that’s way before I lived in the area.

My mother moved out here in 1999, and they just put in the current lights, because there was increased traffic due to the Lowe’s Foods which is totally there still and definitely not a Publix.
